The Ministry of Transport has prompt a bypass rather than a freeway proposed to be constructed by a world biosphere reserve within the southern Dong Nai Province.
In a letter to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Thursday, the ministry mentioned it’s not possible to have part of Nationwide Freeway 13C run by the Dong Nai Tradition and Nature Reserve.
A plan proposed by Binh Phuoc Province, Dong Nai’s neighbor, has over 40 kilometers of the 86-km freeway operating by the biosphere reserve.
The reserve, which spreads over 100,000 hectares, is a part of the Annamite Vary ecosystem.
If the freeway is to have two to 4 lanes, 44 hectares of forests should be minimize down, in response to the Dong Nai Division of Transport.
So the ministry has as a substitute advisable constructing a bypass across the reserve connecting Dong Xoai City, the capital of Binh Phuoc, with Ring Highway No.4.
It would run in a circle by Ho Chi Minh Metropolis and the economic provinces of Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Lengthy An and Ba Ria – Vung Tau, house to seaport hub Vung Tau.
The ministry’s suggestion comes three months after the PM instructed it to finalize plans for the freeway.
Dong Nai had earlier sought opinions from varied sources together with UNESCO and reconsideration of the plan, elevating issues concerning the affect of the freeway on forests and wildlife habitats.
In keeping with the ministry, the bypass will value VND530 billion (US$22.7 million) and run 71km.
It’s the “shortest distance and can value the least” out of all choices that keep away from passage by the reserve.
The Dong Nai Tradition and Nature Reserve was named a world biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 2011.
