Vietnam’s exports exceeded 5.7 billion USD, up 16.4 p.c year-on-year, the ministry mentioned, attributing the rise to the UK-Vietnam Free Commerce Settlement (UKVFTA) which took impact in August 2020.
Sharp progress was seen in shipments of vegetables and fruit (67 p.c), espresso (17 p.c), pepper (49 p.c), iron and metal (1,269 p.c), and toys and sports activities tools (19 p.c).
In the meantime, imports from the UK rose by 23.6 p.c to almost 850 million USD.
Vietnam exported greater than 4.8 billion USD value of products to the UK within the first 4 months of 2022, with main foreign money earners together with seafood, espresso, pepper, cashew nut, textile and garment, footwear, iron and metal, telephones, computer systems, equipment, and toys and sports activities tools.
