Amongst work of Vietnam’s countryside at a Sotheby’s sale final month, a chunk finished in 1936 of girls promoting flowers by the Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi fetched 176,400 euros ($186,000).

The above unsigned lacquer portray, “Panorama in Northern Vietnam” portrays three farmers in opposition to mountains and rice fields. It isn’t signed however belonged to artists on the Hanoi School of High quality Artwork, an artwork faculty in Hanoi that was initially established below French colonial rule in 1925.

It offered at 94,500 euros.

The portray was a part of the public sale home’s “Indochine Sale” of just about 50 picturesque early twentieth century depictions of northern villages and the suburbs of Saigon in lacquer and oil work

“Touring scene in Tonkin” by artist Le Thy (1919-1961) was finished within the Forties.

The 61.3 x 120.5 cm portray options two ladies sporting ao tu than (four-part gown) and a person pulling a horse wagon. It was offered at 17,640 euros.

The “Village scene in Northern Vietnam” by Dinh Minh was painted in Fifties. It reveals a day when a farmer returns house with a horse. It was offered for five,670 euros.

“Within the rice fields” was finished within the Nineteen Sixties.

The paintings by Thanh Le (1919-2003) was acquired by a French collector from an exhibition of the artist’s in Paris within the Nineteen Sixties. It was offered at 3,276 euros.

“Village by the river” by Tran Ha (1911-1974) depicts the every day life of individuals in southern Vietnam within the Nineteen Sixties. Sotheby’s estimates its worth at 3,000 – 5,000 euros.

“Ladies carrying firewood” by Nguyen Mai Thu in 1934, one other scene from Vietnam’s northern countryside, offered for 11,340 euros.

“Village scene in Northern Vietnam” by Tran Van Tho, a silk portray finished in Fifties, offered for 9,540 euros.

Offered for 1,134 euros, these two oil work by Tran Van Giang depict the panorama on the outskirts of HCMC within the Nineteen Sixties.

“Flower distributors close to Hoan Kiem Lake” by Phung Fu was offered for 176,400 euros. The oil portray on silk, finished in 1936, reveals an idyllic scene far faraway from downtown Hanoi at present.
