HÀ NỘI – Việt Nam resolutely opposes and calls for Taiwan to cancel its live-fire workout routines within the waters round Ba Bình island belonging to Việt Nam’s Trường Sa (Spratly) archipelago and to not repeat related actions sooner or later, spokeswoman of the Vietnamese Ministry of Overseas Affairs Lê Thị Thu Hằng stated on March 11.
Answering reporters’ question on Việt Nam’s response to the live-fire drill performed by Taiwan, Hằng stated it significantly violated Việt Nam’s territorial sovereignty over Trường Sa, threatened peace, stability, security and safety of navigation, induced tensions and sophisticated the scenario within the East Sea.
“Now we have repeatedly made statements on this difficulty,” she stated, stressing that Việt Nam has full authorized grounds and historic proof to say its sovereignty over Hoàng Sa (Paracel) and Trường Sa archipelagoes in accordance with worldwide legislation. VNA/VNS
