Govt orders ministry to 'protect' Vietnamese stranded abroad

The federal government has accepted a Ministry of Overseas Affairs proposal to prepare flights to repatriate Vietnamese going through tough conditions overseas and unable to return by business flights.

It in actual fact instructed the ministry to “develop insurance policies and procedures to guard” Vietnamese stranded overseas.

In response to the ministry, many Vietnamese are nonetheless caught particularly within the Center East and Africa, together with 200 in Saudi Arabia, 150 in Angola and 85 within the UAE.

The Ministry of Transport stated throughout the previous week international airways operated 36 common and irregular flights on which 2,055 Vietnamese residents from Cambodia, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the UAE arrived.

On Jan.1 Vietnam allowed common flights from and to the U.S. and eight Asian locations to renew within the first part of a program to revive worldwide journey.
